Arijit Singh Biography
Arijit Singh is a Bengali playback singer.
He is the recipient of several accolades, including a National Film
Award and seven Filmfare Awards.
He received the Padma Shri from the Government of India in 2025.
He has recorded songs in several Indian languages besides Hindi
and Bengali. He is also known for his humble personality and
simple lifestyle.
He was a contestant on the talent search show Fame Gurukul
on the popular Indian TV channel Sony Entertainment
Television in 2005.
Arijit Singh is quite popular in the world of Bengali music
as well as Hindi.
He has sung numerous hit songs in Tollywood and Bengali films.
He started his journey in the music world as a music
programmer. After that, he worked as an assistant to several
famous music directors, such as Mithun Sharma,
Vishal-Shekhar and Pritam.
His first song sung in Bollywood was the song Phir Mohabbat
from the movie Murder 2, which was composed by Mithun.
The song became quite popular at that time.
However, in 2013, he became popular overnight after lending
his voice to a few songs in Mukesh Bhatt's film Aashiqui 2.
He became an icon for music lovers, especially after singing
the song Tum Hi Ho in that film. It brought him stardom.
For the song, he won the Best Male Playback Singer award
at the 59th Filmfare Awards.
In 2014, he sang the song Muskuraan, composed and composed
by Jeet Ganguly. For this song, he received the most
nominations that year. In 2016,
he won the Filmfare Award for the song Suraj Duba Hai and in
2017, for the song Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
