Syed Abdul Hadi Biography
Syed Abdul Hadi is a Bangladeshi singer.
He has won the National Film Award five times.
In 2000, he received the Ekushey Padak, the second highest
civilian honor of Bangladesh, for his contribution to music.
Syed Abdul Hadi is popular for his patriotic songs.
He has been singing for more than fifty years.
He started singing in films since his student days in 1960.
In 1964, Syed Abdul Hadi sang in his first Bengali film
as a soloist. The film was called 'Dakbabu'.
Syed Abdul Hadi's film journey began with a song composed by
Md. Moniruzzaman and composed by music director Ali Hossain.
His first popular song sung on the radio was 'Kichu Bolo,
Ae Nirjon Prohorer Konagulo Hridoymadhuri Dee Bhore Tolo'.
Lucky Akhand composed and directed the music for the film
Ghuddi, directed by Salauddin Zaki. The popular song of this film,
'Sakhi Chalna, Sakhi Chalna Jalsa Ghar Ebar Jai', was sung
by Syed Abdul Hadi.
Syed Abdul Hadi's first solo album of Rabindra Sangeet, 'Jakhon
Bhanglo Milon Mela', was released on the occasion of the 150th
birth anniversary of the world poet Rabindranath Tagore. While
Syed Abdul Hadi was studying for his honours degree in Bengali
at Dhaka University, Subal Das, P.C. Gomez, Abdul Ahad, Abdul
Latif, etc. helped and encouraged him in learning music.
